Position:          Sales Engineer
Location:         Work remotely live in Midwest Territory – MI, OH, IN, KY or IL
 
Business Summary:
A well established and growth oriented technical system manufacturer selling into Tier I Automotive and other industries seeks Sales Engineer for the Midwest.  They offer standard and customized systems.  There is no cap on commission potential with first year’s anticipated total compensation around $100k.
 
Position Summary:
The Sales Engineer will be committed to delivering a high level of sales proficiency.  They will quickly learn the product and respond quickly to the client. They will make sales calls to customers in an assigned territory while working from their home office.  This is a technical sales position that will find and contact key decision makers within target Tier 1 companies. 
 
The Sales Engineer will be involved in strategy, and determining market growth potential. They will use a consultative sales approach. The Sales Engineer will work to develop new product opportunities with new and existing customers by identifying opportunities and working with the engineering and production team to produce the new products. 
 
Requirements / Miscellaneous:
  • BS Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline is strongly preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in capital equipment sales
  • Must be willing to travel by car up to 50% within territory (KY, OH, IN, IL, MI)                    
  • Strong ability to cold call into the decision makers of target companies
  • Ability to present product to customers face-to-face and at events like trade shows, conferences, and seminars.   
  • Able to respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs
  • Experience conveying customer requirements to Product Mgmt teams
  • Manage and create an efficient travel schedule to ensure territory is appropriately covered
  • Provide customer follow-up service as needed
 
Reports:
  • Reports to VP Sales
  • Has no direct reports but will have support
  • Collaborates with other sales managers, engineering, and production
